Guilloume

“When I look at a person, I see beyond the persona and the temporary attributes of age, beauty and style.
It is there that I fine the circles and roundish forms that define the very essence of the human figure.”

Passion – Love – Joy – Commitment – these are the themes that permeate the work of Columbian-born and award – winning Guilloume. An artist who uses understated, but timeless forms in oil paintings, bronze sculptures and reliefs to depict the value, commitment and feelings of family and friends. Guilloume’s body of work is the result of a man following his passion for over 30 years.

Born in Columbia in 1957, Guilloume dedicated himself to the arts at an early age at Medellin’s prestigious Bellas Artes Institute. In 1985 he emigrated to the USA with his wife Gladys where his art gained immediate recognition beginning with major exhibits in Los Angeles. In the mid-90’s he, Gladys and their four children found a new home and studio in New Mexico. Guilloume’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Seattle, Florence, Italy and in his native Colombia, as well as, in Arizona. He is recognized as an artist of note in Southwest Art magazine, October 2014 issue. Guilloume’s sculpure is featured in Western Art & Architecture magazine, Oct-Nov 2015 issue.

Collectors and curators urged Guilloume to write background narratives for many of his art pieces. He has since published five beautiful, award winning books featuring his unique art and poetic words. His message is simple: As human beings, we have more in common than we have differences.
